Writing allows you to define the world

Welcome to your classroom blog!

Your blog is where we will all complete a weekly post.  The Flipboard will makes it easier for me (and you!) to navigate and organize everyone's blog.

Writing allows you to define the world.  Take some time to think about the world around you and start a thoughtful conversation.

What are some topics that we you can blog about?

1.  Make this blog useful -- you will be writing college and scholarship essays this year.  Relate one of the essays to Economics and write it here.  Your classmates and I will even be able to help you edit or provide suggestions to improve it

2. Pick a concept that we learned this past week and describe how you see this concept in practice in the world, community, or school.  (for instance, this week, we learned about economics, opportunity cost, and marginalism.)

3. Find an article about an economic concept that we learned this week, link it to your post, and explain how it relates to what you are learning

4.  Create an argument in support or against a proposed economic policy.

You will also need to comment on two other posts each week.

Feel free to suggest other ideas for blog topics as we go on our journey to become Econ Rock Stars

Remember, everyone in the world will be able to see what you wrote, and your blog is a digital footprint.  You need to think about what you are writing.

Be very clear and very specfic using good writing guidelines.  Think A-E-C.  Assertion-Example-Commentary.

If you're looking for an example of what a professional blog, look at mine.  My blog is for professional purposes, but one of the posts is about how I use economics and technology in daily life.  You can find it here.
